FarmLinks Golf Club, located 45 minutes southeast of Birmingham, Alabama, features one of the most unique golf courses in the world. This 18-hole Alabama golf course was built by The Pursell Family (who were owners of one of the largest manufacturers of controlled release fertilizers). The Pursell’s wanted to create a “living laboratory” in order to test new products, conduct research and educate golf course superintendents. Thus, they built the world’s first research and demonstration golf course on their farm in Sylacauga, Alabama.
In October 2001, Honours Golf was chosen to provide construction oversight of the golf course, oversee the pre-opening activities and manage FarmLinks’ golf facility operations. This Alabama golf course features an 18-hole championship course that stretches 7,444 yards from the back tees. Designed by Hurzdan-Fry, FarmLinks offers a diverse layout with striking views of the mountains and lakes on Pursell Farms, along with dramatic elevation changes. This Alabama golf club provides a unique experience for public golfers. Not only do golfers have the opportunity to play on future turf conditions and test the latest products of golf, but they may also enjoy an all-inclusive rate. This Alabama golf club has received numerous awards and accolades since its inception and continues to gain momentum with positive word-of-mouth.
